end of july / a roundup

You are most powerful when you are most silent. People never expect silence. They expect words, motion, defense, offense, back and forth. They expect to leap into the fray. They are ready, fists up, words hanging leaping from their mouths. Silence? No. -- Alison McGhee, All Rivers Flow To The Sea

a quick post to summarize july, i've been home most of the time, trying to catch up on things and when i said i'm hitting that reset button, i really did. my perspectives are changing immensely and while i thrive to do the best, i'm feeling optimistic about things. we feasted on durian, twice (it's durian season here in Malaysia) and the king of druits has yet to disappoint me - not everyone's a fan, but i love it. day-to-day, i look forward to my workout sessions, i go for a run in the park when i could and i practice yoga, again and again, and i read my books. also, makeup-free days are the best isn't it? as someone who's been in her comfort zone for way too long, i'm in my 'figuring-things-out' zone - surprisingly i'm way more productive than ever!

in july, we've started a mini photography project, 24 weeks on instax - we're on to week 5! i wrote of a vacation with a girlfriend of mine from 4 years ago in Pangkor island (cheeky monkey), and a day trip Ken and i took 3 years ago - when we stumbled upon a man-made beach in Melakawe also went to an izakaya , and came across a new dim sum housemy favorite time of the month was striking off one of my new year's resolution .
