Gliding down the bike path on a Saturday morning, you whip by somebody pedaling in the opposite direction and give each other a nod. For a moment it's like "Hey, we're both doing the same thing. Let's be friends for a second." -- Neil Pasricha, The Book of Awesome
on those rare occasions when Ken & i decide to go out for brunch, we'll try somewhere new - this time i had cakes in mind but as temptation goes, proper pancakes & good coffee here didn't disappoint either. The Grumpy Cyclist is about 10 minutes drive away from home, i was pinching myself thinking it has been around all this time & we've only made a visit this once.
^ so, give me more of these fluffy pancakes. topped with apples, cinnamon & blueberries, dollops of whipped cream on the side. such generous amount of maple syrup. just thinking about it is making me hungry again.
^ the big breakfast - The Grand Fondo. i love the shredded mushrooms, bursting with flavor. overall, it's a pretty impressive version of the big breakfast (though i secretly wished it was with pork bacon instead of beef ;).
^ Ken ordered mushroom omelette, i do recommend it to anyone thinking of heading over - i've never had omelette this good anywhere else.
^ the silver GrumpyVagen in the parking lot, for caterings and parties need. it would totally steal the show & hey, they don't cycle for deliveries ;)
a cycle cafe is rather intriguing - this is my first time, really. in fact, it's one of the very few such cafes on this part of Malaysia. we saw some cyclists, lots of spare parts & bicycles, even, hanging from the ceiling. bicycles i mean, not the cyclists - they were out on the verandah, some with cigarettes in hand, sipping long blacks. i left thinking it's time to buy a bike.
