"In each of us lie good and bad, light and dark, art and pain, choice and regret, cruelty and sacrifice.
We’re each of us our own chiaroscuro, our own bit of illusion fighting to emerge into something solid, something real.
We’ve got to forgive ourselves that.
I must remember to forgive myself.
Because there is a lot of grey to work with.
No one can live in the light all the time." -- Libba Bray
The Lavender Garden was the furthest we could go before we hit the highway to Ipoh, up north. it was a sunny morning, so sunny that i had to give-in to getting a couple of yam sundaes from one of the little stalls along the garden alleys. that didn't stop us from exploring of course, it was nothing compared to the warm weather in KL that we've gotten so used to by now.
the area is huge, but also crowded. we found some quiet spots where we could take some photos without too many people in frames. i love the hanging wellington boots, filled with plants, mostly growing out of control. i love the strings of padlocks left by visitors, with love messages attached. such a unique 'wall' after the main entrance.
some of these messages are too sweet to handle! we could all use a little more love? :)
the flowers were planted in sections, forming a colorful sea of different lavender varieties imported from different countries, plus other type of flowers, like these stunning red begonias. i kept thinking why aren't more of such places scattered around the country?
there were so much to see. people looked relaxed & happy, which was nice. i'm so tired of the hectic city- people rush everywhere! there were plenty of coffee shops along the walkway, perfect for a cup of tea in the chilly weather. we stopped at the highest point to take in the beautiful view from up top, before leaving. it was well worth it.
