24 weeks of instax / back in borneo
Memories and thoughts age, just as people do. But certain thoughts can never age, and certain memories can never fade. -- Haruki Murakami, The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle
^ week 8 / we spent the first week of august road-tripping and we made it to Cameron Highlands. this instax is really blurry but it's the first proper instax of us, and i love the fact that it was taken when it was just starting to rain. slow-living in the highlands is now a life goal, hopefully it happens pronto. this was the day we went to the Sg. Palas tea plantation rolling hills , and the Mossy Forest.
^ week 9 / we flew to Kuching, Sarawak and i'm so happy to be back in my 'motherland'. this instax is taken at the Sarawak Cultural Village, and it's a wall of Kayan tribal art. i'm from the Kayan lineage and the artworks of the Kayan people is something i'm so proud of. i'll post more about our trip, soon :)
^ week 10 / this is my brother, Samuel. we picked him up from his boarding school one morning, and we spent a day with him wandering/playing tourist in the city heat. Kuching city is really, really hot and humid this time of the year - so we're back with much darker skin i feel like drowning myself in cool cucumber juice (still feels like my skin's on fire, for days).
it's been a busy month, we traveled a lot and by the time we made it back to Kuala Lumpur and settle down, i got busy preparing for a job interview. it's been awhile since life got as hectic and i find myself delaying my posts -- i might be working again soon and time spent at home is becoming too precious for me to not read a book or two, or for us to binge-watch Korean dramas in the hazy evenings. the weather in KL is turning for the worst and we've also been down with fevers - what a month!
it's all worth it, fever and sunburn aside -- august has been so good. :)
