"It ought to make us feel ashamed when we talk like we know what we’re talking about when we talk about love."
-- Raymond Carver, What We Talk About When We Talk About Love
last weekend, i scrambled through the little box where i kept the stacks of instax from last month & found these gems. in the first week of September my family was in town, traveling together for the first time after so many years - with four little additions, my nephews. i took lots of photos of the kids, some embarrassing enough should i show it to them in 15 years from now, ha! no really - i've got some nude after-bath poses on special silly request... through what seems to be days of never-ending giggles, they occasionally grabbed the camera and took some photos of random things too over the week. some pretty artsy shots too, i must say! it reminded me of my obsession with my family's film camera as a kid. film still has that same effect on these kids - perhaps it's just more instant now & that makes it even more intriguing?
September has been good. i'm making a photo album of all this for keepsakes. maybe scan some & upload them into my gallery here, too (not the nude ones, of course, those are for future black-mailings haha - insert evil aunt smirk). i'm kidding. happy October!
