we were pretty confused from the moment we got to the entrance of Kinabalu Park, sign boards were pointing everywhere and we had no clue where to start. K drove the car til we can't go any further, parked it outside an empty building at the end of the road, we started walking. we walked til we got tired, got into the jungle, hiked a little, explored a few 'sections' of the park with our curious minds. small structures were taken over completely by nature. nothing loud but the sound of refreshing streams. the park is divided into a few areas, with more than one hiking trail -- this is where all climbers who plan to conquer the peak of Mt. Kinabalu start their journey. we could've explored more but we had so little time on our hands. so much to see!

i'm saving more photos of the intriguing floras within the Kinabalu Park area for another post, if only i could share everything i saw. this was such a beautiful haven. what do you think?
