our wedding — part IV
30.01.2019, a simple dinner with family and friends.
in true diy-fashion we got involved in setting up the dinner area :) the works started the previous day, we hung the origami cranes k had been folding over the past months, his friends arrived and they hung the light bulbs and fairy lights across the roof’s inner steel structures. we’ve chosen a covered section behind the main bungalow, in case it rains, so we don’t have to worry about guests feeling cold especially it gets really windy below 15 degrees at night.
the morning of the wedding, even in the little time we had between our garden ceremony and the dinner - no time wasted! when the vendors arrived k got busy with the tables and chairs setup, also making sure our DJ with his PA system got what he needed to work. an hour before dinner started, we moved some decor from our garden ceremony, plus the cake, to the dinner area. of course i was still in my wedding dress, no time to change and change back again! haha.
some things didn’t go as planned, but we wouldn’t have had a great get-together without our families, friends and vendors, really, we made good memories :) it was a lot to take in, seeing people we’ve spent the few phases of our lives with, some we never got time to meet over the past 10 years. we were beyond grateful for those who traveled so far to celebrate our special day with us!
